LaLa LaLa Cooper’s World

Today’s Mommy Monday is all about Cooper.

We tried a new (possibly DANGEROUS) game with him.  We called it “What Will Cooper Pick?”

The basis of this game is betting on what Cooper will pick out for himself.  As a 19 month old he is pretty much handed what he gets.  His food, clothes, and toys are all given to him and he really doesn’t have much of a choice in the matter.  So, we wanted to see what Cooper would pick in a store filled with limitless options on his own accord.  The store we chose was Toys R’ Us.

When I was little, I was able to pick out whatever I wanted if I would be good and get all the allergy shots I needed.  I picked a Skip It.  Weak sauce, especially since I wasn’t even allergic to anything.  Thanks mom.

So we all placed our bets on what we thought Cooper would pick.  I was sort of hoping Cooper would pick out something fabulous, but I had my doubts.

These were the players picks:

Brian: An Elmo toy

Me: A random piece of garbage, like a luggage tag or a receipt he found on the floor.

Grammy: Food

Auntie Jamie: A cup or spoon

Well turns about no one knows him that well.  He is a little enigma of his own.

Cooper just turned out to be the quintessential boy and picked out a Lightening McQueen Car (that he already had but we just bought it again) and a basketball.  Really, just $8.99 worth of toys out of a whole store.  He is not his mother’s son.  But he sure was happy.

I have to say this was probably the most fun time we have had watching Cooper just be Cooper.  It is great to see choices that your once baby would make on their own. It was so fun to watch him laugh and run around the store looking at everything (even though it probably annoyed other shoppers).

So even though this was a potentially financially dangerous game most things (when they are little) aren’t too expensive.  I would not recommend playing this game with any child that knows about video games.

If you have a child around this age, play the game, get to know your child, and let the odds be ever in your favor. ;)
