Tufts 10K With Reebok and Fitfluential

Wednesday evening I was invited to participate in a training run with Reebok and Fitfluential in Boston.  We were supposed to meet a City Sports so I clearly showed up at Marathon Sports.

Whoopsies!

Thankfully, they are right down the street from each so I showed up at the right store without being late!

Lucky Break

The best part about the mix up is I walked right past the Boston Marathon finish line.  One day I am going to qualify for Boston and run it.  But I don’t want to run it until I BQ so that might be very far in the “after babies” future.

Someday…

When I got to the store I immediately went to the back to meet up with the Reebok representatives.  They were really nice and excited about the training runs.  Plus they hooked me and the other Fitfluential ladies up with some sweet new clothes.  All our outfits were different this time, unlike the Canton Road Race.  My outfit was super comfy and I was glad to get shorts with a drawstring, they always fit no matter what.  I have to say though I wish I sized down.  When I went to Reebok with Brian I sized up with the CrossFit clothes.  However, the PlayDry clothes fit more true to size and I should have gotten a small.  But they were still great non-the-less

About 10 of us took off for the training run and it was decided to run 5 miles along the Charles.  Now I have admitted I am a treadmill lover.  But maybe it is because I don’t live in a great area to run outside.  If I lived in town, I would never hit the gym in nice weather.  This was an absolutely perfect run, with beautiful scenery and a lot of great energy from the hundreds of people outside getting their fitness on.

Boston along the Charles River

When we got back we said our thank yous and goodbyes and clearly took pictures with other Fitfluential Ambassadors!  Not the best pic but don’t forget we just went running for an hour!

Me, Robin, and Liana

On my walk back to the Prudential Center’s parking garage I was hungry so I picked up apple slices and peanut butter to help work off those post-workout munchies.

However, I almost choked on them when I went to pull out of the garage and saw how much it cost to park there for 2 hours.

Really? Highway robbery right here.

Boston really needs to calm down with parking costs.  It has been so long since I have drove into the city by myself I had completely forgotten how much things like parking cost.  So I drove myself home and parked in my driveway for free!

Question: Have any of you done training runs as a group?  It was the first time I have and I absolutely loved it!  It was a must try all around!

  1. That parking is just ridiculous. I ate dinner at the Prudential Center last year and was sick my whole drive home after I paid almost $40 for parking. Crazy! So nice chatting with you tonight!!!
