Tonight I feel like I have sometime to decompress for the first time in awhile. I want to apologize for not responding to all your messages on my board. I have read all of them and I sooo appreciate each and everyone of them, things have just been wildly busy with back to school and Brian traveling for work alot lately. However, his traveling season is over and once school starts I can get into a regular schedule. We had Cooper’s 18 month appointment today and everything went well but we realized on our way out Brian’s Reebok coupon was expiring in just a few hours!
Brian works for Dunks and right next door is Reebok World Headquarters. Although his job has many perks this is the best one for me! Twice a year for (I guess) neighborly relations Reebok offers Dunks employees the ability to come over to their building and shop at their store 40% off. There was no way I was going to let him sneak that one by me, so we ran over there as fast as we could to take advantage of the sale.
I was couldn’t believe 1. how nice the building was 2. how nice the store was inside 3. THEY HAVE A FULL SIZE basketball court, track, fields of every kind, and a gym. HOW DO I NOT WORK HERE?!? Damn education degree. Anyhow it was time to get shopping. I really really want a pair of the crossfit nanos but they were excluded on the coupon and they are pretty expensive so I am going to have to wait on those. I am dying to try crossfit. I probably think about it everyday but until I finish up my kickboxing class card its not really possible. So I am biding my time and foaming at the mouth waiting for it!
I decided to go with some RealFlex’s since I figured I wanted to get into some minimalist running to strengthen my feet and ankles. I am going to take the advice from the New Balance clinic I went to at the Falmouth Road Race and not run in them at first. I am going to walk around the house and get used to it first. I am also going to wear them to kickboxing and training to get a feel for them and some strength before I take them for a real run. Lets be honest I got alot of other stuff too, Brian also got a few things.
I have to say though I am obsessed with the Reebok throw back tank. One piece of advice though is if you are buying a stretch/sweat wicking shirt I found they ran pretty true to size. However I found the cotton tees and tanks ran small and I sized up in one and wish I had sized up in the other. Lesson learned.
I love everything I picked up today. While I am biding my time waiting for my day in the crossfit box I will be working on my fitness (in great gear)
