So much alliteration and so little time! Today will also be a vlog free post since we had a going away party for my brother David last night. David is moving to California this morning to get his Ph.D. in Economics from UC San Diego (smarty pants) and that seriously ran my blogging time-table short today, but I have some
good GREAT things to share.
1. Fitness: Falmouth Road Race
This weekend I am going to be running in the 40th running of the Falmouth Road Race. If you are not familiar with the race it is a 7 mile race in which over 10,000 runners take part in each year. Even with the huge numbers of runners there is still a lottery each year and you must get lucky to get in! I am so excited to get one of these spots. The Falmouth Road Race has been called one of the best non-marathon races in the country, if not the world and attracts many elite and world class athletes and (obv. not the Londoners) Olympians with a $10,000 purse! However, I am mostly excited for this bad boy to be around my neck Sunday afternoon! I will be writing a recap of the race for the FitFluential Blog later in the week!
2. Family: Crushers!: If any of you have 1-2 year olds you know it is a time where they like to go EVERYTHING by themselves. Whether or not they actually can is another story. While Cooper is trying hard to work on his spoon skills they really are not up to snuff. That is why I am currently OBSESSED with these:
They are healthy, delicious and pretty inexpensive from Trader Joes. There are other varieties at other grocery stores but these are priced better and he loves them. Best of all he feels accomplished and I don’t have applesauce all over my house!
3. Food: 150 Healthiest 15 Minute Recipes on Earth
I made these Cocoa Treats from this book and besides this recipe the book if filled with everything a busy person looking to eat healthy needs! The recipes are quick, delicious, and healthy and honestly I am a really picky eater and if I can find 3-4 recipes in a cookbook that I will eat, I consider it to be a good book. Even better is when I can find those 3-4 recipes and they aren’t all appetizers or desserts, then I call that book AMAZING. This cookbook also includes all nutrient information which is my pet peeve of many cookbooks I have in my cabinet. What is up with that. Check out the book on Amazon here!
That’s it for my fast and furious favorites this week! I am doing a quick run and then a workout with my trainer that I will post tomorrow morning. After that I am of to register for Falmouth and I can’t wait! Happy Friday Everyone!!
Question: Any races this weekend for you guys? Any Falmouth twinsies??
